Mila Kunis Highlights Harper's Bazaar 2012

Cover Girl Mila Kunis
Harper's Bazaar April 2012

The lovely Mila Kunis graces the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine for April 2012, wearing the cream of the designer crop from Spring 2012's hottest collections. The Ukranian-American beauty features in a fun-loving photo shoot inside the mag, playfully set in an amusement park. It's been shot by photographer Terry Richardson and has got to be my favourite celebrity fashion editorial for the year so far. Gaze on and let me know if you agree.

Mila looks ravishing in a satin blossom pink Versace gown with provocative cutout on the bodice and thigh-high slit. The dress also has a studded waistband. On the runway, the gown was shown off in a light aqua shade, I much prefer it in the custom pink.

Mila horses around in a sultry black bustier top, bedecked with multi-coloured jewels. Black briefs are paired with it, both by Dolce & Gabbana. Sparkly Tom Ford sandals adorn her feet.

Mila satisfies her sweet tooth in a royal blue Yves Saint Laurent cross halter-neck dress with ruffles on either side of the flaired skirt.

Mila's fashion bubble cannot be burst, as she has fast become one of Hollywood's most noted style icons. She looks delightful in a white Chanel shift dress with ultra-high neckline and sheer hem. Her multi-strap pointy-toe mules are by Louis Vuitton.

Mila wears one of the most striking and memorable pieces from Louis Vuitton's Spring 2012 collection. It is an embellished blue, beige and white broderie anglaise dress, with a multitude of 3D floral motifs, enhanced with studs.

Mila strikes gold in this gorgeous Roberto Cavalli number encompassing a floral pleated skirt and glitzy gold sequined jacket.

Glamour takes a carousel ride - Mila looks beautiful in an a celestial white Christian Dior strapless gown with dainty ruffles washed across the bodice. Marc Jacobs Mary Jane pumps were styled with this look.
And finally, the tiara to top off this photo shoot, Mila shows off a romantic fairy-like look by Alexander McQueen, with a textured lilac organza dress laid over a frothy skirt, and worn with fanciful unruffled organza wedge heels.

Looks Of The Week - 10/03/12

The weekly round-up of inspiring celebrity style

Chic Street Style
Jessica Alba proves that all-black can never be boring when mixing textures. She wears a suit blazer over a floral lace top and flair leather mini skirt, all by Dolce & Gabbana. Jess added black tights and suede 'Declic' pumps by Christian Louboutin.
Gwen Stefani shows off her hip style while out in LA. The singer paired a simple black tank with a white A.L.C wrap skirt and black tights. She chicly accessorized with a black and gold tribal necklace, Cutler & Gross sunnies and peep-toe anklet boots by Maison Martin Margiela.
Miranda Kerr puts her best foot forward in a pair of killer thigh-high Alaia boots, which she wore with a crochet wrap Azzedine Alaia dress, burgundy Louis Vuitton bag, Flynt sunglasses and an adorable fedora.
Dakota Fanning does a spin on school-girl style with sophistication. The young actress was spotted in NYC wearing a black blazer over a white Beckley blouse, along with a flirty red pleated skirt, black satchel, knee-high socks and wedge boots.

Pretty in Paris
Dianna Agron looked fetching in a peach and black floral print shift dress from Louis Vuitton's Pre-Fall 2012 collection. She polished off her outfit with a black coat, clutch, tights and gold cap-toed pumps, also by Louis Vuitton.
Mia Wasikowska is known for her poise and simplistic style. She selected a lovely long-sleeved pastel pink and black block Miu Miu dress with embellished collar. Love the dress but I feel her choice of footwear is lacking panache.
Sarah Jessica Parker hails Spring 2012 in a charming white Louis Vuitton empire-line gown with ribboned bow and dainty floral print hem.
Socialite Poppy Delevigne incited attention in a gorgeous Chanel ensemble, consisting of a floaty white tiered peasant top & lacquered black maxi skirt. Large round-framed sunglasses, Chanel sling bag, a ruby red lip and pointy-toed heels complete her glamorous look.

Uber Glam
Italian model Elisa Sednaoui attended the 'Chanel Boutique Inaguration' in an elegant ivory button-up coat dress with embellished chain waistband, which is by the French brand. She tossed in metallic accessories with a silver chain-handle bag and glossy high heels.
Elizabeth Olsen tamed this opulent white and gold beaded Balmain bat-sleeve jacket by wearing it with a simple black maxi dress. To add interest, she carried a sky blue metal frame clutch by The Row.
Megan Fox hasn't looked this fabulous in ages. The brunette actress dazzled in a nude A-line dress decked with lavish gold beadwork by Elie Saab. Neutral two-tone YSL capped toe pumps and retro waves complimented her look.
Astrid BergĂ©s-Frisbey picked out a shimmering midnight blue beaded dress with large scalloped tiers, sheer sleeves and neckline by Chanel Spring 2012 Couture. She casually paired it with a grey suede cropped jacket & matching clutch. Glittered T-bar sandals fit her feet.
Chinese actress Zhou Xun was a guest at Chanel's Fall 2012 presentation in Paris. She opted for a feminine ensemble in soft shades, wearing a white tweed Chanel coat over a pale pink pleated dress and cropped shimmer mesh buttoned top. Her knotted cream sandals are by Christian Louboutin.

Paris Fashion Week Fall 2012 - Part Three

Paris Fashion Week
Fall 2012 Favourites
Part Three

It has been a stellar few weeks of style from across the globe, but all good things must come to an end. This is the final part to my Fall 2012 Fashion Week coverage. Hope you enjoyed it.

Chanel
It was crystal covered eyebrows that stole the show at Chanel's Fall preview. That, and of course, a spectacular array of other-worldly outerwear. A shimmery blend of textures were layered in precious gemstone tones. Tweed coats decked with geometric motifs, motley print dresses and chunky metallic wool knits and sheer skirts, all worn over a skinny pair of pants. I loved the asymmetrical strap Mary Jane's the models trotted in. The collection glistened with a relaxed type of urbane glamour.

Elie Saab
Elie Saab brings high-end glamour back down to earth with his Fall 2012 collection. Daywear was elegant with two-toned peplum dresses, weighty fur coats and sexy sheaths in charcoal, black and sandy beige. A lace cobweb design spun it's way onto a few floor-length frocks, while a vivid shot of emerald green ensembles filled in the rest of the colour quota. Then came the dazzling evening gowns we've all come to love and expect from the master couturier. Molten metal drizzled with sequins in hourglass silhouettes will be simply irresistible to every stylist and their celebrity clientele.

Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton takes us on a historic train ride this Winter, exclusive monogrammed luggage in tow. Quirky hats and large round goggles felt inspired by Johnny Depp's 'Mad Hatter' character from Alice in Wonderland. Models looked like 19th century story book characters themselves, costumed in oversized everything: buttons, brooches, lapels, collars and lengthy coats in exotic leather and holographically beaded tweed. The whimsical range was decadently painted in an assortment of colours - hypnotic purples, intense orange, caramel, indigo blue and green. Marc Jacobs tells a vivid tale with every unusual look.

Alexander McQueen
An Alexander McQueen show is always a momentous event, and this season, Sarah Burton did not disappoint with a storm of cyclonic looks. Futuristic ice princess outfits were smothered in fur, feathers and fringing. Colossal coats & avant-garde dresses were seen in soothing shades of petal pink, lilac grey & celestial white, spiced with cherry red. Massive tiered gowns closed what was a transcendent show. Burton dreams up the extraordinary, then brings it to life.

Miu Miu
Only Miu Miu could turn 70's style wallpaper into chicly sophisticated suits with the utmost dexterity. As with Prada, it's all about the pantsuit for next season, in trippy harlequin and paisley prints. The silhouettes were masculine; long tailored blazers and clean-cut trousers and suit coats. The only hint of feminism came from the frilly ties and silky blouses. Two-toned leather loafers and doctor-bags wrapped up the street-executive outfits.

Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne mingles with glossy metallics in 60's style shapes for Fall 2012. Creative director Manish Arora set forth squarish silhouettes in swanky high-shine fabrics. Striped shifts with silver mesh inserts, chain-mail mini's, and grid patterned dresses garnished with fur hems and sleeves. Bright blue popped up amongst the minefield of coal, gunmetal grey and gold. Party frocks that will seek the disco crowd's attention - Paco Rabanne has you covered.

Paris Fashion Week Fall 2012 - Part Two

Paris Fashion Week
Fall 2012 Favourites
Part Two

This is the second chapter of my Paris Fashion Week round-up. We've seen leather and fur emerge as major trends, along with relaxed fit trousers, opera gloves and a high round-neck.

Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney mixes work with leisure for her Fall 2012 collection. Oversized flap coats and chunky-knit sweaters made for charming casual wear, and evening wear was intricately embroidered in electric blue, black and white. Cozy cardigans and slouchy pants fit McCartney's weekend style, while tailored suit coats and padded-hip skirts make office wear interesting. The show closed with a line of sporty colour-blocked ice-skater inspired dresses, expertly constructed from silk and tweed.

Andrew Gn
A dark Victorian romance transpired at Andrew Gn's Fall show, through a sultry set of gauzy embellished chiffon, leather and lattice work, and plush black velvet. Suave navy blue coats were belted and bejeweled, fur neatly clustered on the shoulders. My favourite from the range is an opulent purple evening gown, harnessed with black embroidery (bottom row). Lace chokers and fishnet stockings emphasized the glam-goth theme.

Valentino
Valentino's Fall 2012 presentation was charged with it's usual romantic mien, varied by a slight ethnic slant. Leather was delicately refined into elegant dresses, skirts and coats with frog braided clasps. Black was embellished, while siren red dresses were scalloped on the neckline and hem. Silhouettes were surreptitiously sexy with long-sleeves and high-necks, just a hint of skin shown through Victorian-inspired lace. Folksy multicoloured prints and ornamental metallic trims polished off the beautiful evening gowns.

Chloé

A light breeze of subtle hues and uncomplicated clothes drifted across the runway at Chloé's Fall showing. A set of pastel blue and peach parkas, duffle and military coats beautifully contrasted the lightness of the other looks. Elasticated skirts were slung low on the hips, frail lace blouses and dresses seen in vanilla cream, while evening wear made an appearance with a single black silk taffeta cut-out gown. Quilted pencil skirts and cropped wool pants showed off ankle strap Mary-Jane pumps. British countryside chic done with Parisian flair.

Givenchy

Givenchy's Fall offering was abound with 70's style equestrian silhouettes, secured with strict tailoring in nocturnal shades, and just a flicker of red and orange. Silky camisole dresses loomed from the shadow of black leather coats and capes. Jodhpur pants were tucked into knee-high riding boots. Neck-ties and long leather gloves accentuated the dusky damsel look.

Isabel Marant
Isabel Marant puts a chic French spin on the frontier cowgirl for next Fall. A trip to the Wild West is not complete without floral and fringed cropped denim jeans, sheer ivory lace blouses and frilled mini skirts and a slick spate of laser-cut leather looks. The quintessential cowgirl button-up shirt is given a feminine update, and the only type of shoe fit for a stylish ride out on a ranch is the embroidered cowboy ankle boot.

Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent's Fall presentation was heavy-laden with leather, slicked back vixens and a ruby-red lip. Stefano Pilati bowed out gracefully with his dominatrix-fired finale for the iconic brand. His swan song played out with boxy, broad-shouldered coats, fur accents and mild florals, acutely clinched-in waists, sharply tailored suits and metallic mesh dresses with plunge V-necks. A grand departure for the designer.

Declarations Of A Drama Queen

"I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go.
Things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right.
You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself.
And sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together. "

Paris Fashion Week Fall 2012 - Part One

Paris Fashion Week
Fall 2012 Favourites
Part One

Paris is the last stop on our Fall 2012 Fashion Week tour. These are the some of my favourite collections so far. Click to enlarge pictures.

Giambattista Valli
Giambattista Valli established a unique compatibility between heavier knits and flimsy chiffon for Fall 2012. What began in the ashes of black and grey, lit up into a fiery stream of burnt orange and flame red. Chunky sweaters were paired with pencil skirts, drop-waist dresses were hemmed with fur, pleating was sheer and patterns aplenty. The show culminated with wide-belted gowns in striking superimposed geometric prints.

Haider Akermann
Haider Akermann is an architect of innovative new cuts and awe-inspiring sculptural designs. His Fall collection is tinted with shades of an Autumn day; in roasted chestnut, a heap of fallen leaves in every shade of orange, russet woods & sage green. Structured peplum jackets were sternly belted, silk blouses peeked under draped wool, high-waisted pants were framed by moulded leather coats & dresses were ingeniously gathered to yield a folded capelet shape.

Balmain
Balmain's winter offering was laid from an ornate FabergĂ© egg, richly embellished with crystals and glistening pearls. Sumptuous velvets and brocade traced Baroque influences, while slick leather trousers and oversized quilted vests signaled modern rock-chick. Navy blue and forest green coloured in a black, white and metallic palette. Shiny gold belts were recurrent throughout the collection, shaping the boxy silhouettes. Casual sweaters and slim-fit pants grounded the otherwise lavish looks.

Cacharel
Cacharel's Fall collection took flight from the 20's, with intrepid pilot Amelia Earhart at the helm. A serene blue sky of feminine coats and suits were dotted with clouds of white, red and yellow. Silhouettes were more relaxed with patterned palazzo pants, slouchy jumpsuits, polo-neck and belted dresses and cozy knits. The retro-aviatrix looks were accompanied by aviator caps, long leather gloves, cute coloured tights and red and yellow heels.

Christian Dior
What attracted me most to Christian Dior's Fall collection was the dreamy shades of pastels, pink and grey. Skirts, narrow and 50's style flair were all nipped in the waist, paired with peplum jackets and tops with knotted-necklines. Fitted knit caps, ankle-strap pumps and long leather gloves accented each look. In the meridian of this hazy range, were a resplendent few evening gowns with diaphanous skirts and a standout neon pink prima ballerina dress.

Dries van Noten
Hats off to Dries van Noten for taking the mundanity out of the conventional suit and breathing new, exotic life into it. His inventive use of prints are tailored to perfection with a slight Oriental influence this Fall. A bricolage of prints were printed onto silk dresses, longer-length tunics and wool trench coats. Narrow trousers were worn underneath pleated skirts. Brightly hued fur capes added texture to the masculine silhouettes. This is a collection we will see tumble down from the catwalk onto the stylish sidewalks of the everyday girl.

Lanvin
Lanvin's Fall presentation opened with a rainbow of cocktail dresses, flounced on the waist or frilled on the collar. The mood turned darker, with sexy draped and frocks and black and grey bejewelled mini's. Curve-enhancing dresses were punctuated with lavish necklaces, colourful fur stoles, belts and opera gloves (which seem to be a favourite this fashion week). Edgy elegance to appease the glamour-seeking girl with rockstar chic.

Nina Ricci
Nina Ricci dresses up Parisian romance with a sense of nostalgia for Fall 2012. Designer Peter Copping proposes the idea of assembling an outfit from a treasure chest of clothes you would find in your grandmother's attic. A pretty pastel pink and berry-hued collection of silky slip dresses were blanketed by thick tweed coats. Lingerie-inspired cut-out frocks seduced with their innate feminine appeal, while deconstructed tulle dresses seemed to come undone. Fragments of lace, chiffon and tweed were pieced together, creating an arbitrary patchworked design. Again we see elbow-length gloves, only this time trimmed with fur. Sweetly seductive.

Part Two to Follow.
