Declarations Of A Drama Queen

You Are Amazing
As. you. are.
Stronger than you know.
More beautiful than you think.
Worthier than you believe.
More loved than you can ever imagine.
Passionate about making a difference.
Fiery when protecting those you love.
Learning. Growing. Not alone.
Warm. Giving. Generous.
Quirky. Sexy. Funny. Smart.
Flawed. Whole. Scared. Brave.
And so, so, so much more.
Be Strong. Be Confident. Be You.

Looks Of The Week - 12/05/12

The weekly celebrity style round-up on and off the red carpet

Painted with Prints
Florence Welch displayed her boho-chic style on the streets of New York, wearing a fringed orange and blue patchwork jacket by Etro. The flame-haired songstress dressed her look up with a cream blouse, black cropped pants and strappy platform sandals.
Olivia Palermo takes on the pajama pants trend, looking winsome in a floral Wisteria top with matching trousers by Whistles. She spiced it up with apricot Corso Como heels, a brown woven belt and army green parka.
Jessica Alba styled up a pair of sateen floral Tory Burch pants with a navy blue tee, black leather Tory Burch bomber jacket and snazzy pair of navy & cobalt colourblock heels by Joelle.

Three Ways To Wear Red
Taylor Swift is becoming a style regular around here. I can't fault her simply cute street style. Here she wears a bright red pair of AG skinny jeans, along with a nautical navy and white striped Parker tee. Taylor jazzed up her outfit with yellow ballet flats, an Anthropologie headband and Lauren Mirken sling bag.
I never thought I'd find a Kristen Stewart outfit I actually liked, but I was wrong. K-Stew's contemporary rock ensemble really appealed to me this week. She dons a burnt red one-button blazer by Rebecca Minkoff, James Dean printed tee by Dolce & Gabbana and leather J brand skinnies. Black Oxfords fit her feet.
Actress Amber Heard shows off red in a dressier way, looking radiant in a two-tone cranberry and crimson red Zac Posen bustier dress that is moulded to perfection.

Aqua Skies & Cerise Sunsets
Supermodel Erin Heatherton gives us a breath of fresh air in this flowy turquoise gown with high split and shoulder cut-outs, which is by Carlos Miele.
Nina Dobrev looked electric in a hot pink silk mini by Gabriela Cadena, featuring a textured design on the shoulders and skirt. Strappy black Jimmy Choo's finalize her look.
Duchess Kate Middleton looked ravishing in a teal green chiffon Jenny Packham pleated gown, delicately framed with lace sleeves and a bejewelled belt.
Lindsay Ellingson joined Erin at Victoria's Secret Beverly Hill's bash, standing out in a vibrant neon pink number with hi-low hem by Juan Carlos Obando. I am loving her pink and orange peep-toe heels.

Sweet Vs Chic
Australian actress Belle Heathcote picked out a celestial white, sheer tiered dress with ruffled sleeves by Chanel. A skinny black belt & tie-up ankle-strap sandals complete her look.
Brooklyn Decker channeled a more military style by selecting a fitted black Altuzarra dress, studded with gold. Brooklyn added an impressive pair of polished gold pointy-toe heels by Christian Louboutin.
Zoe Saldana slipped into a beautiful lavender-grey Elie Saab frock with gauzy embroidered neckline and a flaired two-tier skirt.
Eva Longoria contoured her petite self into a sleek black Victoria Beckham dress with sporty strap neckline. Draw your eyes down to that exquisite pair of pale pink and black Vanity heels.

Friday Frills

"Life is like a book with many chapters we call seasons.
Some chapters tell the story of love, drama, comedy,
mystery, loss, adversity, growth, disappointment, triumph, etc.

Some chapters are dull and ordinary, others intense and exciting.
The key to enduring, persevering and being hopeful is to never stop
on a difficult page, to never quit on a book or a chapter that seems
too long. Some chapters may be sweet but too short. Your words,
thoughts, actions, non-action and choices are the pens that write the
pages in your book.

Have the courage and faith to keep turning the pages, believing better
chapters lie ahead."

Reality-star-turned-designer-turned-novelist Lauren Conrad has been having immense success with her fashion line for Kohl's. And it doesn't surprise me, seeing her sugary sweet and feminine collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Not only are LC's clothes delightfully pretty to look at, they are very reasonably priced too. Lauren's current range blooms with pastel tones, floral prints, flirty dresses, coloured denim, sassy denim shorts and floaty blouses to laze in and enjoy the summer sunshine.

Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her toned pins in pastel purple Prada. I expected more from her. Dakota Fanning looked angelic in a lavender Louis Vuitton gown with textured skirt.

Chic Metallic
Karolina Kurkova was dressed in molten gold by Rachel Zoe, she added a turban for that head-turning effect. Camilla Belle sizzled in a silver figure-hugging Ralph Lauren gown. Lana Del Rey brought about an air of mystery to her Altuzarra sequined gown, shrouding it with a long black cape. Cameron Diaz chose a slinky shimmer dress from Stella McCartney.

Basic Black
Mary-Kate Olsen looked sophisticated in a custom-made ensemble by The RowRihanna showed off her amazing figure in a sleek long-sleeved Tom Ford gown. Florence Welch was cocooned in voluminous Alexander McQueen confection. Elizabeth Banks opted for an intrepid Mary Katrantrou dress with digitally stamped print, high neck and peplum waist. Literary Accessorizing

Olympia Le-Tan Clutch Bags
Spring 2012

It's true, you can't judge a book by it's cover, because it may reveal far more than the eyes can see. That's the thought behind the wonderful and whimsical book-clutch collection by Olympia Le-Tan. The creative French designer has blurred the line between fashion and literature by transforming some of the world's most notable and classic novels into stylish pieces of art.

These imaginative book covers were inspired by Olympia's father's vast collection of antique books. The handmade clutch bags, which are already a celebrity favourite, entice with their exuberant colours and quirky designs. The boxy minaudieres are based on a brass structure, featuring a canvas of felt embroidery and an inner Liberty print floral lining. Accessorizing your outfit with one of these splendid pieces gives new meaning to the word 'Book Smart'. An Olympia Le-Tan book-clutch will set you back about Euros 1 140.

I would love to see some of my personal favourite classic novels churned into a high-fashion accessory. It would be anything by Jane Austin or Charles Dickens. Which one of your favourite books would you like to wear?
