Part Two

The second half of the outstanding collections at London Fashion Week. For Part One, see here.

Burberry Prorsum

Palette: A peacock palette of jade, teal, violet, raspberry, taupe, fuchsia, turquoise & blue.

Silhouettes: The traditional Burberry trench gets an overhaul in shiny foil metallics, ombré and lace. Collared shirts and pencil skirts, folded corset tops, retro swimsuits, cocoon coats, capelets, peplum bustier tops, micro shorts and skintight strapless cocktail dresses. 
Textiles: Silk, satin, feathers, leather, lace, plastic, metallics. 
Theme: Metallic Luxe 
Styling: Glossy metallic ankle-strap pumps and sandals, berry-red lipstick and loose waves, coloured rim sunglasses and plastic handbags.

Erdem

Palette: A colour clash of pastels & neons in lemon, powder blue, fluoro pink and orange. 
Silhouettes: Lace sleeves & sheer yokes, fitted sheaths with high round necks, cut-out bustier tops, fabric & print layering, printed pants suits, see-through pockets, full skirts & crop tops.
Textiles: Python leather contrasted by delicate lace, embroidered sheer organza, tulle, 3D floral appliqués, satin, brocade and jacquard. 
Theme: Supernatural Sweetness
Styling: Tied back hair, a matt pink lip, lace gloves, chunky t-bar platforms.

Giles

Palette: Charcoal black, white, gunmetal grey, quartz blue, bronze and beige.
Silhouettes: Perforated pencil dresses cut to look like pieces of broken glass. Ruffle-fold necklines, sharply cut pantsuits, tiered hem skirts, mid-length ballroom gowns.
Textiles: Laser-cut leather in a shattered glass design, silk, crystal embellishings, duchess satin, Pegasus photo prints and feathered patterns.
Theme: A Shattered Rhyme of Dramatic Style
Styling: Mussed up waves, elaborate Stephan Jones hats, shocking pink lips and nails, sunglasses and lace-up brogues in yellow, metallics and stripes.

Roksanda Ilincic

Palette: Sunset oranges, sunflower yellow, cobalt blue, mink, black & white.
Silhouettes: Black and bright pieces of random wavy and geometric shapes are pasted together on slim fit sheath dressesLong, streamlined shapes, contrast collars, cuffs & waistbands. Tier-hemmed maxis, drop-waist dresses, wide leg-elongating trousers, cardigans, bishop sleeves, see-through plastic gowns, asymmetrical draped dresses.
Textiles: Jersey, knits, tweed, abstract art inspired shapes. 
Theme: Sophisticated Seventies Flare
Styling: Two-tone T-bar strappy pumps by Aldo, naturally styled locks under floppy paperboy hats, large carry bags, rose blushed cheeks and a pale pink lip.


Christopher Kane

Palette: Subtle shades in candied pink, buttercup yellow, white, pale grey, ecru and black. 
Silhouettes: Expertly folded dresses held together by nuts and bolts - inspired by Frankenstein. Floral embossed biker jackets, slick trouser suits, bow adorned frocks, low V-necklines, apron drapes, woven plastic cap ensembles and sheer embellished dresses. 
Textiles: Rubber, plastic, acrylic bolts, silk gazar, leather, crystal beadwork, quilting, black thermo tape and organza.
Theme: A Bolt of Innovation
Styling: Back combed ponytails, buff makeup with lined eyes, spiral wired sandals.

Paul Smith

Palette: Brick red, nectarine, mustard, bottle green, teal, burgundy, grey, black & white.
Silhouettes: Chic separates with masculine tailoring, cropped trousers, voluminous shirtdresses with lace and pleated panels, shorts, buttoned-up shirts, clean cut blazers, lace cuffs, two-tone paneled pants, striped suits and sleeveless caftan dresses.
Textiles: Chiffon, lace, cotton, bold blocks of colour, stripes and abstract floral prints.
Theme: Colour Blocked Boyish Charm
Styling: Tightly wound back hair, mirrored sunglasses, white and yellow leather loafers, ankle-strap pumps, large colour-blocked totes and a vivid red lip.

Micheal van der Ham

Palette: A polychromatic array of shades in ice-cap blue, reds and oranges, navy, minted green, yellow, apricot, lilac, turquoise and plum.
Silhouettes: Ladylike dresses with flaired out skirts in a pastiche of painted fabrics, mixed material skirts diagonally attached in uneven lengths, sheer cap sleeves, layering, collared shirts and deconstructed frocks embroidered with beads.
Textiles: A mishmash of art-inspired and hand painted prints on silk, lace, chiffon, crepe, organza, leather, furry jacquards, brocade, sequins and tulle.
Theme: Cut and Collage
Styling: Long straight locks with Alice bands, a bright red lip and otherwise nude makeup. Ankle-strap pumps were worn in black, cream and turquoise.

Mulberry

Palette: Caramel, spearmint, orange blossom, honeydew, navy blue, black and white.
Silhouettes: Pea & trench coats with oversized collars, printed trouser suits, pleated skirts, wide-leg pants, sweaters, the refined leather biker worn over flowing halter gowns.
Textiles: Gecko and micro floral prints, leather, sequins, lace, tweed, gold flower buttons, jacquard, brocade and floral appliqués.
Theme: A Walk in the English Countryside
Styling: A braided side swept fringe and ponytail, well defined cat-eye and a pink pout. Models walked in strappy sandals and ankle boots and carried the latest Mulberry 'Willow' bag.

I really enjoyed LFW! For me, the designers are consistent and creative. Really loved so many of the collections. My favourites are Mary K, Peter P, Temperley London, Antonio B, Burberry, Erdem, Michael VDH...and that's just off the top of my head.
P.S those are minnie mouse ears ;) I'm kinda attached to them, haha.

I loved the bold colours & Metallic theme in Burberry Porsum.
The pastel colours are so soothing to the eye in Erdem & the hair do! so sleek & neat! LOVE!
Giles, kinda reminded me of Vivienne Westwood dramatic looks. flowing dresses and well the hair.
And the prints on prints of Michael Van der Ham (L)
