Looks Of The Week

Who What Wear How
My Best & Worst Fashion Picks

Fashion Favourites
TV & radio presenter, Fearne Cotton displays her boho-casual style on the streets of London. She paired a printed top and skirt with dark denim jeggings and a matching cropped jacket. I like her choice of accessories with the tan satchel, stacks of bracelets, zebra print flats and cute floppy hat.
Cat Deeley strolled around a market in Beverly Hills looking lovely in red. The 'So You Think You Can Dance' presenter wore a crimson red macramé maxi dress by River Island, paired with a leopard print clutch, tan strap sandals and aviator sunglasses.
Ashley Tisdale was also spotted out shopping in Beverly Hills. I love how she put this outfit together. Ashley wore a simple grey v-neck tee under a black boyfriend blazer, with Funktional Stardust shorts. Grungy studded black ankle boots, a cream fedora and Chanel bag completed her cute look.
Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera attended the premiere of her new movie, 'Cowboys and Aliens' in San Diego. The dusky beauty wore an intriguing gown from Gucci's Fall 2011 collection. The halter-neck bodice has a textured red rose-petal effect and the bottom is made up of sheer black chiffon.

Fashion Foes

I know that Katy Perry was trying to be quirky at 'The Smurfs' movie premiere, but this dress is ridiculous. Besides that its far too short, it makes her look ditzy with all that glitter, Smurf printed nails and bright blue eye shadow.
Olivia Wilde attended the launch of her Nylon magazine cover in a black jumpsuit. I was disappointed with her entire look, it's so severe. I don't like the fit of the harem style pants, that merges into those peculiar see-through snakeskin mesh boots.
Dita von Teese was in Dallas for a Cointreau cocktail launch. Her satin floral dress may have looked better without the unnecessary addition of the yellow and green sashes, harsh make-up and loud feathered bag.
Anna Paquin wore all white during the HBO Summer Tour. Her dress is infected by far too many circle cutouts. She looks so stylish usually, I don't know what happened here.  My aversion to dots has increased exponentially after seeing this dress.

Cover Girls - August 2011

From Catwalk to Cover
Fashion Magazines August 2011

There have been so many interesting magazine covers for August 2011, I couldn't help but share my Top Ten. It makes me wonder, if all these magazines were on the same newsstand...which one would I pick up first?

Kate Moss for Vogue UK. The newly-wed model gazes off in a coral wool dress by Miu Miu, which is covered in an embroidered floral design. The hazy cover shot has a retro feel to it, as does Kate's hair. Marni resin-drop earrings, a brass Diane von Furstenberg cuff and bold red lips add weight to Kates look.

Katie Holmes for Vogue Spain. Katie takes on a fierce but feminine military persona for the cover of Vogue España. Her black long-sleeved lace dress with polo neck is by Lanvin. Black nail varnish, smokey eyes and a leather army cap complete her valiant look.

Mia Wasikowska for Harper's Bazaar, Australia. The actress wears Louis Vuitton for the vintage-styled cover. She poses in a sheer black and white dress with high collar, puff sleeves and a black buttoned corset. Pulled back hair and barely-there make up play off against the complexity of the outfit. She looks so beautiful compared to the 'tortured' runway look.

Olivia Palermo for Shop Til You Drop magazine. This has got to be the most eye catching cover for August 2011. How adorable is Olivia's Sass & Bide dress? It features dozens of layered leather cutouts in warm autumn colours. She wears the dress back-to-front for the cover and minus the belt.

Megan Fox for Elle China. The sultry star wears an all black crepe-wool ensmeble by Emporio Armani. The jumpsuit fits much better on Megan than he runway model. I think the outfit would have had more of an impact against a clean white background, rather than this grassy one. Windswept hair and red-hot lips complete a very polished look.

Miranda Kerr for Cosmopolitan, Australia. The model wears a sexy purple plum bandage dress with v-neck and zip-front, by Herve Leger. The bright turquoise background and Miranda's radiant smile makes this a fun and energetic cover. She looks amazing seven months after she had her baby.

Sarah Jessica Parker for Vogue. The 'Age Issue' sees a smiling SJP on the cover. Her white embossed coat with black accents and leather belt is by Burberry Prorsum. Her hair is pulled back with a hairpiece to the side. I'm finding this cover to be the most insipid. I prefer the runway styling.

Lily Allen for Elle UK. The British singer wears a dress from my favourite Winter collection of 2011, by Dolce & Gabbana. Her star-printed charmeuse dress is contrasted by panels of black lace. Her hair is worn in retro waves and make-up kept minimal. SA's Candice Swanepoel (right) wore the dress on the runway with  a zebra print bag, black socks and white shoes.

Mila Kunis for Flare, Canada. The Russian-American actress wears a salmon coloured dress by Lanvin with volumized neckline and fitted skirt. Her hair is worn completely to the side. The dress on the runway seems over-accessorised compared to Mila's look. Also, the beauty of the neckline is shown off better on the magazine.

Selena Gomez for Elle Mexico. She wears a midnight blue stretch knit tunic and pants by Altuzarra. The bronze belt with plaited detail and tassels is by Gucci. Her wavy locks are covered by a cute Scala Pronto floppy hat. The cover is simple and sophisticated, it's also is more mature look for Selena, which I like.

Which is your favourite cover for August 2011?

Colour Blocking Continues

It looks like the 'Colour Blocking' trend is here to stay a little while longer. A clear colour blocking was seen through most of the Resort Wear collections for 2012. These are some of the looks showcased by American and European designers.

Vertical and horizontal stripes updated this trend. Blues and yellow hues were common.

Form fitting dresses were shown alongside flair skirts. Orange was a popular colour choice.

For more on how to wear the colour block trend, see this post.

Olivia Palermo Style - The Maxi

Style Icon
Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo made a few red carpet appearances in New York City during the past week. The pretty brunette rocked the maxi trend on all three occasions.

At the DKNY Sun Soiree, the socialite looked charming in a pleated chiffon colour block dress by DKNY. I really like the combination of colours used on this dress. Her look was styled with a fuchsia Reiss Maddox pleated clutch bag and a chunky chainmail necklace from Topshop. Her pink feathered heels, which she co-designed, are by Stuart Weitzman.

Left: At the 'Friends with Benefits' premiere, Olivia wore a printed maxi skirt in shades of blue. A simple white blouse with pockets was paired with it. She carried a quilted burgundy bag by Christian Dior and wore shiny gold lace-up heels by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Right: For 'The Smurfs' World Premiere, Olivia chose natural colours. She wears a sheer sandy beige blouse that's off-the shoulder, with a layered cream maxi skirt. Her accessories included a white ring, nude clutch bag and skinny white belt. She slipped her feet into her feathered Stuart Weitzman sandals.

Snow Day in Small Town, SA

Waking up to a world covered in pristine white ice was a truly magical experience. The icy dusting on our little town brought with it a hamper of joy and excitement. Not only because schools and offices were all closed. Snow in South Africa is a rare occurrence, so when it happens, it's pretty much like Christmas in July.

Cheery snowmen dressed in bright wooly scarves graced almost every garden. Parents enjoyed a day off, while children's laughter and snowflakes filled the air. This was the heaviest snowfall I've ever seen, it was more than 20cm deep. People had to shovel their way out of their driveways. Trees had fallen down due the sheer weight of the snow. Roads were closed to and out of the town, meaning that while we reveled in our snowcapped bliss, many travelers and truck drivers were stranded. A few good samaritans spent their day providing them with warm food and shelter.

These are some photos I took during the day. We drove around for a short while, but soon discovered that the roads were too slippery and treacherous. So we settled for buttered popcorn and a steaming pot of coffee in front of the fireplace instead. As gently as the snow drizzled it's magic upon us, it began to melt. By tomorrow morning all we will be left with are the sludgy remnants of an enchanting snow day that too swiftly passed.

It's Snowing!

The first Winter snow is here...and we're all pretty excited in Small Town, South Africa.

It started snowing at 9pm this evening, and after a few hours a beautiful white blanket covered our town. I braved the cold at about 23:30 and went outside to take these photos of my front garden. My cat is not at all impressed that his playground has been transformed into an icy winter wonderland.

Taylor Swift Style

Stylish Star
Taylor Swift's Dresses

Country superstar Taylor Swift was spotted in New York City wearing two adorable dresses this past week. Both dresses have a rounded boat neck, accentuated waists, cap sleeves, pleated skirts and are the same length.

Left: Taylor wears a coral canvas dress by Twenty8Twelve with moss green peep-toe sandals and a teal handbag. She wore her signature blonde waves up in an unkempt bun.
Right: Taylor looks pretty in a deep sky blue embroidered dress by Tibi. She accessorized with a gold skinny belt and ivory flats with bow detail.  You may recall seeing Blake Lively wearing this same dress here.

Steal Her Style
Both of Taylor's dresses are available online for purchase.
Left: Daisy Dress in cotton canvas from Twenty8Twelve by s.miller. This scorched red dress is available from Asos for £220 or R2427.50
Right: Floral Embroidery cap sleeve dress in sky from Tibi. This cotton dress is priced at $770 or R5210.

Looks Of The Week

Who What Wear How
My Best & Worst Picks This Week

Fashion Favourites
Rachel Bilson strolled the streets of Santa Monica in this cute ensemble. She wore bright red shorts with a white v-neck tee and black blazer. Ankle boots and a quilted Chanel bag completed her look.
Nikki Reed was at the Comic Con in San Diego, California. The Twilight actress wore a sweet floral print dress by D&G with a black leather zip-up jacket and Brian Atwood pumps.
Ashley Green was also snapped at the Comic Con, looking chic in dark skinny jeans and an ivory ruffle-neck top by Robert Rodriguez. Her spunky tan and turquoise heels are by House of Harlow.
Nina Dobrev is kaleidoscopic in a one-shoulder chiffon dress by Dalia MacPhee. She paired her frilled dress with adorable purple satin sandals and a neutral clutch.

Fashion Foes
Whilst all the other Twilight gals dressed their best at the Comic Con, Kristen Stewart opted for rolled up skinnies, an ill fitting top and her worn-out Converse sneakers. Its the see-through white tee with a black bra underneath that irks me the most.
Victoria's Secret model, Selita Ebanks attended the 'Children of the City' Benefit in New York. Was there a memo going around that see-through tops with black bras were in vogue this week? This is a kids charity event, not a Victoria's Secret lingerie show.
Jessica Biel was yet another star at the Comic Con festival. I think this midriff baring top and shorts is better left at the beach or a slumber party.
Demi Lovato at the 'Noon on Noor' launch party - so much going on. Separately, the ten elements of her outfit would look fine. Piled on all together and it's a mess in excess.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians & Their Birkin Bags

Kardashians & The Birkin Bag
A Match Made in PR Handbag Heaven

The Hermes Birkin Bag...a sign of of infinite wealth, exclusivity and a lavish, elitist lifestyle. The cost for A Birkin bag starts at $9000 (R61 723) and goes up to $150 000 (over a million rands) - for a single piece. The waiting list for one of these leather treasures is about 2-6 years. Every fashionista around the globe aspires to own one.
The Kardashians...A family 'brand' who are famous for absolutely nothing besides being famous. Their claim to fame is by playing being themselves on their hit reality TV show, 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'.

And it's safe to say that being filmed while going about their daily lives is really paying off. Especially for the Kardashian family envoy, Kim. She bought seven Birkin Bags in one year, whereas most stars can only ever own one in their lifetimes. Her mum, Kris and sisters Khloe & Kourtney also own a few Birkins each - making this family the ultimate marketing tools for Hermes, without them having to ask.

Last year, it was reported that Kim spent over $100 000 in just one trip to the Hermes store in Paris. She owns a Birkin in black, white, grey, chocolate brown, military green, bright yellow and tan. She carries one everywhere, from the mall to the main street and the gym. You know that you've really made it big when you can throw your dirty gym wear into a $15 000 bag. Kim had also paid $30 000 (R205 745) for an exclusive Birkin Bag made from rare crocodile skin. I can't imagine that killing exotic animals for their hide is worth it's price in fashion.

The Birkin Bag is named after English actress Jane Birkin, who by chance sat next to Jean-Louis Dumas (CEO of Hermes) on a flight in 1981. She complained to him about not having a bag large enough to carry all her belongings, and the next thing you know, Jean created the Birkin Bag especially for her. If I had to complain about my bag size on a plane, I would just be told to travel lighter.

Kourtney (left) has a Birkin in vivid orange and Khloe has one in yellow, black and purple.

The Birkin is nothing more than a status symbol. Being seen with one boasts to the world that while impoverished countries in Africa are in dire need of financial aid; you can nonchalantly hold your $100 000 Birkin Bag under your arm without batting any of your fake lashes.

Trends at Cape Town Fashion Week 2011

Trendspotting
Cape Town Fashion Week 2011

For those us not lucky enough to attend Cape Town Fashion Week this year..there are always the pictures to admire. I've seen all the shows online, so that I could round up the best looks off the runway. These are the hottest trends bubbling under for Spring/Summer 2011-12.

Colour Blocking

We've already seen the colour block look on countless celebs and in magazines. Good to see that it finally made its way down the South African runway. Michelle Ludek paired a sheer white top over a hot pink vest and dark grey pants. Stephania Morland dazzles with a tri-coloured metallic frilled mini. Thula Sindi contrasts cerise with black. Danielle Margaux channels Gucci with a turquoise and royal blue satin ensemble. Gavin Rajah's red and black striped dress reminds me of Prada's Spring 2011 collection. Leigh Schubert takes on the trend with muted tones and vertical panels. Habits combines two popular colours, purple and orange.

Maxis

Meet your new length for Summer - the Maxi. Its flowing, feminine and flattering. Both skirts and dresses were seen sweeping the floor. The shapes were either straight or bias-cut. Fabrics used were soft, silky, sheer or pleated.

Shorts
Shorts...for Spring. It's a no-brainer. Lengths went from itsy and ripped at Lisp to cuffed and knee-length at Nucleus. Shorts were styled both casually and formally. Strappy sandals, long necklaces and leather belts completed the look.

Printed Dresses
I Love this trend, if only I could pull it off. Printed dresses added so much lightness, joy and femininity to Fashion Week. Different blue hues were wrapped in a long satin dress at Thula Sindi. Love the vintage floral print on this short dress by Lisp, it looks like Mary Poppins' carpet bag. Billowing halter neck gowns were seen in several colours at Habits. A green tropical print mini shown at Carducci. Michelle Ludik paired her silky ink-blot dresses with big, bold accessories and funky feathered shoes. Gavin Rajah toughened up his flowy print gowns with metallic leather biker jackets.

Colours at Cape Town Fashion Week 2011

Colour Trends
Cape Town Fashion Week 2011

For me, trends always begin with colour. They are the building blocks of any collection, a palette upon which a design is inspired. Cape Town Fashion Week showed off a multitude of striking shades for Spring/Summer 2011/2012. From brights to whites and all that's in between, here are the biggest colour trends for the next season.

Brights
A rainbow of eye-catching colours sizzled on the runway. Orange and navy reigned supreme, falling in with overseas trends. I don't really like orange but I do love the ruffled Stephania Morland dress (pictured fourth on the top row). Yellow was seen in lemon, lime, chartreuse and gold. Cerise pink and bright violet made a bold appearance. Blues were popular, from aqua to royal blue and indigo. I like the combination of blues in the stunning chiffon gown by Danielle Margaux (pictured fifth on the bottom row).

Black and White
Black and white are timeless as well as seasonless. Although many of the designers displayed their version of a long white dress; round and v-necks, slits and flowing fabrics were a common denominator. Black dresses were shown from short to long lengths. Lisp showed a chic black catsuit with floppy hat. The silhouette of the Abigail Betz gown with bateau neck (fifth on bottom row) is very 'Elie Saab' like.

Neutrals
An earthy-inspired palette of colours ran across all collections. Dove greys, sandy nudes, chocolate browns and charcoal; simple colours brought to life by invigorating designs. Gavin Rajah's Jaipur inspired beadwork, wispy frills at Stephania Morland, retro shapes at Thula Sindi and satin waist bows at Leigh Schubert.

Vampire Diaries Casting Call

Who We'd Like To See
On Season Three of The Vampire Diaries

Season 2 of our favourite supernatural series ended on a rather intriguing note. Not so much of a cliffhanger, but more of a thrilling taste of what's to come. The cast of The Vampire Diaries could not have been better selected, they were voted as the sexiest cast on TV by Victoria's Secret.

There are so many actors and actresses I would like to see guest star in the next season. So, as we anxiously await for Season 3 to hit our screens, I've made up a list of my guest star dream cast. I've also asked a few diehard Vamp fans for their guest cast wishlist. This is who we would like to see in Season 3.

My Choice
1. Rachel Weisz. With Jenna and Uncle John gone, Elena and Jeremy will need a new guardian. I think Rachel is a good choice, she looks like she's actually related to them and she's acted in several supernatural movies before. Also, Alaric will need someone new to distract him from the bores of being a history teacher.
2. Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Just look at him...he was born to play the role of a vampire, preferably an evil one. He could act as another awoken 'Original', one that's more wicked than Klaus.
3. Zoe Saldana. She always lights up the screen. I'd like to see her star as Bonnie's older sister or step sister. One that she never knew existed.
4. Eric Dane. Who better to play the role of an all powerful, revenge-seeking werewolf than he? He could play a pivotal role in the war against Klaus.
5. Olivia Wilde. Up until now, Klaus has been indestructible. He needs an Achilles Heel; a past love that broke his heart (if he ever had one) and someone who has a spellbinding force over him. Enchanting beauty Olivia is perfect for the role.
6. Matt Bomer. This gorgeous White Collar star is going to be huge in Hollywood. Before that happens, I wish he could make a turn at Mystic Falls, as a Salvatore cousin. Damon is going to need the help to find Stephan in Season 3.
7. Elle Fanning. At her young age, she's an enigmatic actress. I'd like to see her guest star as a relative of Caroline's, one with a supernatural secret.
8. Victoria Justice. She is Nina Dobrev (Elena's) real life doppelganger, even prettier, if that's possible. If Nina ever gets tired of playing both Elena and Katherine, Victoria could step in.

Viewers Choice
I took a survey of the biggest Vampire Diaries fans I know - this is who they would like to see guest star in Season 3.
1. Kristin Kreuk. 'Loved her in Smallville and haven't seen her since. I'd like to see her as a werewolf, who challenges Caroline for Taylor Lockwoods' affections.'
2. Channing Tatum. Elena needs a 'human' love interest in the next season. Someone hotter than Damon and Stephan put together. Who else but Channing Tatum to fit that role.
3. Fergie. She should guest star as a family member of the Salvatore Brothers' who comes to help kick some Klaus' butt.
4. Taylor Lautner. This was a popular choice. Apparently people feel that his werewolf talents are wasted on just Twilight.
5. Dakota Fanning. Another Twilighter, who a fan would like to see as a mysterious newcomer to Mystic Falls, one with a dark side.
6. Jesse Williams. This Grey's Anatomy favourite was selected to be a new love interest for Bonnie. 'The whole Jeremy thing is too weird.'
7. Jada Pinkett Smith. 'Bonnie doesn't have any family members in the show.' Jada could make an appearance as Bonnie's mum, who's use of too much magic has left her slightly deranged.
8. Alex Pettyfer. He's gotten fans in a tizz since the movie Beastly. A fan said she would like to see him as the son of Klaus, 'who is completely good and virtuous.'
9. Amanda Seyfried. 'I'd like to see her as guest star as someone with supernatural powers, but who's not a witch, vampire or werewolf. Something else...'

Im thankful that no one mentioned Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart or any of the Disney crew. I am surprised no one said that Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) from Gossip Girl would make a good vampirous villian. Who would you like to see in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries?

Who Wore the Isabel Marant Jacket Better?

Who Wore It Better?
Isabel Marant Reilly Jacket

When a $3495 jacket is sold out everywhere, you know that it must be truly special. In ZAR terms, that's R24 124. The Isabel Marant Reilly Jacket has made frequent rounds of Hollywood and beyond during the past few months.

The multicolored cropped jacket has an upholstered look to it, which reminds me of the finely embroidered Rajasthani coats I saw while visiting Jaipur. The front-closure, sleeves and neckline are edged with either blue or red and white beads. The fabric is transposed from light to dark, with v-shaped panels on the sides. It has a tailored fit with slightly exaggerated shoulders. With the kaleidoscope of muted colours incorporated into this jacket, it can be worn with so many different things.

Country singer Julianne Hough wore it with an army green tee, dark wash jeans and wedges.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley paired her jacket with a black t-shirt and skinny jeans. She added a floppy brown hat and suede boots to her look.
Hilary Duff was spotted wearing the jacket this week. She wore it with black skinnies and a black t-shirt. She walked in sky-high black stilettos.
Brit model & WAG, Alex Curran Gerrad wore her Reilly Jacket with lightwash flare denims, a loose white t-shirt and large cream tote.
Austrian stylist Caroline Sieber looks ultra cool with dark skinny jeans, white fitted tee, platform sandals and a striped bag.

As for who wore it best, my pick is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She styled it perfectly.
Who's your favourite?

Looks Of The Week

Who Wore What How
My Best & Worst of The Week

Favourite Colour Combinations

Stephanie Pratt looked sexy in a silky tangerine top with neon pink mini by Boulee. She wore nude accessories - strappy Yves Saint Laurent sandals and a leather Gusto clutch.
Zooey Deschanel was adorable in a pink, green and white rose print dress by Kate Spade. She also opted for nude accessories, with peep toes and a Kate Spade clutch bag.
Audrina Patridge colour blocks with confidence, wearing a hot pink and firebrick red dress by Jay Godfrey. She highlighted the red of the dress with a Adrienne Tunney clutch and patent leather cut-out sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Favourite Looks

Pixie Lott attended the Net-a-Porter Dolce & Gabbana event in London. I like that she paired a girly tiered lace dress with gritty black ankle boots. She carries a black Miss Sicily bag with chain & leather strap.
Dianna Agron was spotted in New York City wearing a navy blue tee with an Anthopologie nouveau rose skirt and brogue wedges by Rag & Bone. A floppy grey hat, large black clutch and Carrera sunglasses complete this supercute look.
Brooklyn Decker posed at a Sephora launch in NYC. The blonde actress opted for a winsome Alexander Wang dress with white Peter Pan collar and cutout. Her two-tone studded Valentino heels are a great addition.

Fashion Foes
Jamie Winstone wore a floral print mini to the Net-a-Porter party, held for Dolce & Gabbana. The satin dress is sweet, but the styling is in shambles. Ignore her hair if you can, it's those Smurf blue suede wedges worn with black socks that has me stumped.
Emma Watson attended the David Letterman show in New York City this week. Her sparkly silver dress feels like it's seriously missing something... a sleeve perhaps? And the cork wedges with an embellished cocktail dress doesn't work.
Lady Gaga was snapped at Sydney airport, during her Australian tour. She looks like a beekeeper in a spacesuit made from trash bags. I think it's the first time she's worn this much clothing.

Friday Frills

Moschino Resort 2012

Truman Capote's legendary 1966 Black and White Ball was the inspiration behind Moschino's Resort 2012 collection. The Italian fashion house presented a charming range that had a very Chanel French-chic feel to it. Retro-modern silhouettes were well-balanced while classic colours like black, white navy and blush pink were predominant.

I loved the styling of the cat-eye glasses, messy middle-parted updos, chunky gold bangles, luxe leather bags and most of all - flat sandals. It's about time someone brought flats back. To me this line is like a 60's librarian meets French ballerina meets Upper East Side sophisticate. And it all works so well together.

Full tulle skirts were the scene stealers of the collection. I especially like the second look with the blush pink cardigan. The coat fabric of choice was tweed.

Straight leg pants and collared coats were paired up for an ultra chic look. The cerise pink belted bouclé jacket is such a bold piece. Colour blocking played a small part in the range, with two-tone sandals and jacket detailing.

These black and white dresses would have looked just as good in 1966 as they do today, and will retain their classic appeal twenty years from now.

Cropped bouclé jackets with gold buttons were worn over A-line skirts. Feminine dresses were offset by printed leather biker jackets.

Coffee-holics Anonymous

I can barely function past 10am without a few cups of coffee. Coffee was discovered so that people like me can wake up early in the morning without harming or injuring others (and ourselves). I didn't consider myself as a coffee-addict until I 'tried' to cut down my intake. This didn't work out well, just ask all the friends and family I terrorized during my caffiene-deprived state.

The longest I've been without coffee is two days, I couldn't make it any further...the anxiety and neurosis set in and I had horrifying hallucinations that all the world's coffee trees were extinct. Then there was the falling asleep at random times during the day; like during a work presentation, which I was giving. So I decided not to put myself in such jeopardy again and refueled on my life's elixir.

If you're wondering whether you're also a coffee-holic, here are a few signs that I have found to help you find out.

Signs That You're a Coffee-holic
  • You can jumpstart your car without cables.
  • You watch DVD's in fast forward.
  • You never speak in complete sentences.
  • You can type 80 words per minute with a coffee cup in one hand.
  • Your doctor needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
  • You speak so fast, even 'The Chipmunks' don't understand what you're saying.
  • You walk 5km on the treadmill before realizing it's not on.
  • One shot of expresso and other people get dizzy watching you.
  • When you call into radio stations, the presenter asks you to turn yourself down.
  • Nescafe has named a blend after you.
  • Your personal first aid kit contains two liters of coffee and an I.V hookup.
  • You answer the door before people knock.
  • You think CPR stands for 'Coffee Provides Resuscitation'.
  • You haven't blinked since the last lunar eclipse.
  • You're so wired, you pick up 5FM.
  • At your local cafe, your coffee is made before you even order.
  • The only reason you go to sleep is so that you can wake up to the smell of coffee.
  • You get a speeding ticket even when you're parked.
  • Your birthday is a national holiday in Columbia.
  • Walking makes you nervous. Sleeping makes you nervous. Actually, everything makes you nervous.
  • You drink decaf by accident and slip into a coma.
  • Your coffee pot is next to your bed and your alarm clock is in the kitchen.

They say that sleep is sign of coffee depravation, which means I need to go make myself another cup...Ciao for now ;)
