Friday Frills - Living in the Present

Don't get stuck in the past,
Where you linger on and on in familiarity,
And replay old memories over and over again.

Don't overindulge in the future,
Where you daydream about leading a grand life endlessly,
And imagine the sweetest days you could ever live.

Don't neglect your present,
Where true life begins to unfold and pass you by silently,
And you wonder about missed opportunities and lost moments.

To avoid the state of merely existing, be aware of your present,
And you might notice that you are part of a grander scheme
where the past is long gone and the future has yet to come,
And that your present is the most precious moment you could ever feel.
Your past and your future both lie in your present,
Where your present wields the power to influence and change the way
you think about your past either with gratitude or with regret,
And shape your future to either a success or a failure.

Live totally in the present,
Enjoying each and every moment,
Where it is all happening,
Where it truly matters.

Who Wore MinkPink Better?

Who Wore It Better?
MinkPink 'Fading Into Daisies' Skirt

Australian brand MinkPink has invaded the overseas market with their contemporary, stylish and affordable clothing, which have not only been popular with fashion lovers, but celebrities too.

This pretty Summer-inspring striped tube skirt and matching cropped top with floral daisy pattern is on the hotlist from MinkPink's SS14 range. The 'Fading Into Daisies' pencil skirt has already been worn by three of TV's most stylish Hollywood actresses.

Olivia Munn was spotted in Los Angeles wearing the cropped striped and floral top with matching skirt by Minkpink. The actress paired her savvy ensemble with a Stella & Dot crossbody bag and black ankle strap Stuart Weitzman sandals.
Eva Longoria made a trip to France in this trendy Minkpink 'Fading into Daisies' striped pencil skirt, opting to style it with a black tee, white Helmut Lang zipped blazer and Christian Louboutin white python pumps. Eva also carried a black quilted Chanel tote bag.
Jamie Chung added a red envelope clutch and strappy tie-up silver metallic sandals to her Minkpink 'Fading into Daisies' floral and stripe printed outfit.

Kelly Osbourne also wore this same MinkPink ensemble for an appearance on E! News.

Get The Look

The Minkpink 'Fading into Daisies' cropped striped and floral top and matching skirt are both available at Nordstrom.com for $48 a piece.

As for 'Who Wore It Better?', as chic as all three actresses look, my top pick is Olivia Munn, as I prefer the black sandals with the outfit and both the top and skirt seemed to fit her better. I also liked the red clutch Jamie Chung wore with her look.

Monique Lhuillier Resort 2015

With Resort wear we are inclined to think of tropical prints, strappy tanks and bermuda shorts, but this is not the case behind the glamourous new range by Monique Lhuillier. The renowned evening wear designer has lent her elegant train of thought to this stunning Resort 2015 collection.

Strong architectural lines govern the range in a stark contrast of black and whites with graphic prints that allow the silhouettes to stand tall. A few casual pieces surfaced by way of chic shorts, sporty shaped tops, pencil skirts and office appropriate dresses. A ladylike flair was conveyed by satin midi skirts and pretty cocktail dresses frilled by tulle and embroidered lace. Boxy blouses and razor-cut skirts, necklines and hems enunciated the structural concept of the collection.

Monique's strong suit is apparent in the series of exquisitely crafted gowns that uplifted the palette in rich poppy red, flamingo pink and fuchsia. Fitted dresses glittered in an intricacy of beadwork, whilst others were beautifully layered in lace and tulle. Drapes, tiered frills and floaty pleated skirts created movement and volume, a long departure from the strict profiles that the collection had to begin with. These are looks we're more likely to see on the red carpet than a resort island.

This is Monique Lhuillier's beguiling vision for Resort 2015 Collection.
