Friday Frills

How many times have we said something that we immediately realized
was not the right thing to say?

How many times do we look back on an event and think, "If only I had…"

How many times do we do something that we wish hadn’t done?

I've learnt that
You can’t change what has been said.

You can’t change a past event.

You can’t change what has been done.

So, do you drown yourself in regret, sorrow, repentance?

Do you think about what might have been?

Do you relive an event the way it should have been?

Forget about regret, and focus.

Focus on today, not on the past.

Focus on what you can do now, not what you didn’t do then.

The only thing to regret is living in the past
.
The only thing to feel sorrow for is not living each day to the fullest.

The only way to repent is to sincerely say, "I’m sorry".
Don’t live your life regretting yesterday.

Live your life fully, so when tomorrow comes, you won’t regret today.

Sam we may be living in different parts of the world but what I realize is that there are some universal truths which cut across any barriers and such positive thoughts happen to be one of them! For this reason alone, I read all your Friday posts religiously to feel good:) Have a lovely weekend:)

I am so guilty of doing this...I'll relive a moment I want to change over and over again. But there's nothing you can do about it - just look forward to tomorrow!

Oh my goodness, you always find the prettiest inspiration photographs to go along with these, I just love the purple flowers and the dress in this one. This post is just so true and it really speaks to me. I'm usually really careful about what I say in person, I definitely over-think what I say and then when I relax and just say what is on my mind, I feel like I always say something wrong. It reminds me that sometimes I just need to step outside of my own head at times.

Dear Sam as always you have here really beautiful and inspiring words for us. I absolutely agree! There's no point of looking back, re-thinking and wishing it was done the other way. I'm trying never to do so. Focus on now - this is what's important, this is what makes us happy.
Have a wonderful weekend dear!

Morning Sam! Thanks a bunch for your comment and words, you always made my day and Im really thankful for it!:) As you know, Friday Frill posts are one of my fav from you:) I need to read what you share every week as a personal thought and reminder for everyday life!:) One of the things I hate most in fact is to regret about what has been done in the past instead taking time to improve the situation or at least ask sorry! Many time happens also to me to talk by instinct saying something I preferred to not say at the moment once reflected then, I think the best is always ask sorry and try with facts to show an attitude in this way! Words are empty if there isnt also an attitude in that sense! Brooding about past things is only a waste of time...and just increase wrinkles in the face!!:PP Kisses and hugs dear, happy Friday!:*

Sam, these words are so beautiful, and you hit the nail on the head. I think it's easier said than done though. We haven't been programmed to live in the present, but rather reflect on the past and to think about the future. I've been in these situations multiple times, regretting decisions, what I've said, my actions. The sad part? I never learn from them :(

Keep writing, you have beautiful words!!
