For Summer 2012, Heavy Machine has created futuristic designs with solid architectural shapes. Leather lined geometrics with angled cut-outs are appended to chunky lacquared heels in dazzling colour-blocked brights like turquoise, yellow and coral. Heavy Machine holds no restraints when it comes to bold creativity. These avant-garde pairs may not be timeless classics, but they certainly do pack a punch.

WOW, love the colors but I wouldn't dare walk in them. I could see stars like Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj wearing them on the red carpet.
These are certainly eye catching and artfully designed. They do look more like works of art than functional footwear to my practical eyes.

I do like them, I have some pairs that are considered "strange" - well, somehow I like "show shoes" :) But never something too futuristic - although I loved these shoes and I'd wear some of them, my favorite was the blue one!

These are totally art to me...I just love how crazy and creative footwear has gotten lately! It's fun to look at and can really amp up an outfit. Someday I'll have some killer heels lke these.

Interesting question, I've always though of Fashion in general as art you can wear and these shoes definitely fit the description.

These look good but no really something I would wear. I think they are art but hey, if you can rock them, why not? I won't begrudge just because I know I couldn't ;)
I say... Art. I personally wouldn't ever wear those shoes just because of how blunt and sharp they are. But that's just my style. The designs are really trail blazing as you say! Unlike anything I've ever seen!

I really love statement shoes like this! I think these are examples of fantastic fashion design, sometimes I get a little bored with fashion being compared to art. I hate when fashion has to be justified as 'art' when it's a little crazy or out there. xxx
