The February Issues 2014

Cover Girls
February 2014

With February being my birthday month, it's only fashionably fair that I collected the most striking magazine covers to celebrate. This month sees many beautifully shot covers that colourfully sign in Spring with some of the best 2014 runway looks. Chanel, Valentino and Prada are exceedingly popular choices, along with a printed mix of brights and subdued pastels that cement Spring 2014 trends. These are my favourite February 2014 issues.

The exquisite Natasha Poly is prismatic on the cover of Vogue Japan, wearing a pop art printed dress with ruffled sleeves from Chanel's creative Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

French beauty Cindy Bruna lends her megawatt smile to the cover of Marie Claire Italy, posing in a graffiti painted black and white tank top and red brush-stroked skirt by Céline.

Harper's Bazaar Korea selected US supermodel Jacquelyn Jablonski to ring in Spring with a dulcet powder blue Burberry Prorsum lace coat decked with green jeweled embellishings. The look is sadly styled without the pink runway belt, but with a large straw hat.

Naomie Harris dazzles on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Arabia wearing a coral embroidered long-sleeved lace playsuit by famed designer Elie Saab.

Harper's Bazaar Spain turns our attention to Prada's whimsical mural face painted dress with emerald and gold embellished bodice as modeled by France's Julia Frauche.

Cover veteran Karolina Kurkova extends her star power to the cover of Harper's Bazaar Singapore in a kaleidoscopic paint palette one-shouldered dress by Chanel

Upcoming Chinese model Le Wei colours in the cover of Glamour France with a bold paint splashed oversized shirt from Céline's Spring/Summer 2014 line.

Vogue Ukraine settles on a romantic threshold into Spring, with Isabeli Fontana on the cover in a beautiful floral appliquéd mesh dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

Keira Knightley returns to the spotlight with a triumphant feature on Harper's Bazaar UK. The English actress poses for two cover shots, both in rainbow printed dresses from Chanel's increasingly popular artsy Spring 2014 range.

The ethereal Ola Rudnicka stays on home turf for her stint on the cover of Elle Poland. She wears a rose pink lips-hearts-&-matches crystal studded dress by Stella McCartney. Her ash blonde locks and deep berry lips are by far my favourite makeup/hair look of the month.

Russian model Anna Selezneva gains attention on the cover of Vogue Mexico with her piercing blue eyes, mirrored by this sky blue Miu Miu frock with beaded fringing.

Valentino should be proud to crown a trio of magazine covers this month, with beautiful folksy dresses from their Spring 2014 range. From left: Mariacarla Boscono in an aqua & coral embroidered gown for Glamour Italy. Zooey Deschanel dons a sheer bohemian printed look on the cover of Elle US. And lastly, Finnish model Suvi Koponen is notable on the cover of Vogue Germany wearing a fringed cape and matching tribal embroidered dress.

Daria Werbowy graces Harper's Bazaar US in an intriguing Proenza Schouler criss-cross cut-out monochrome dress with metallic pleated skirt. The angles and detail of this dress photographs brilliantly, making it a memorable cover choice.

Holland's Marthe Wiggers brings a girly playfulness to the cover of Spur Japan with her doll like features and voluminous crimped hair. She wears a lemon and blue embroidered petal pink shift dress by Stella McCartney Resort 2014.

Sarah Jessica Parker is eye-catching on the cover of InStyle USA, wearing a glitzy blue and green beaded corset dress by Prada with rainbow motif/ face printed skirt.

Based only on the cover shot, which of these February 2014 fashion magazines would you pick up first?

Cara Delevingne for Vogue Australia 2013

Cover Girl Cara Delevingne
Vogue Australia
October 2013

Supermodel extraordinaire Cara Delevingne lends her unique charm to Vogue Australia for their October 2013 issue. The Brit beauty is (un)officially enthroned as fashion royalty in the glossy magazine, pictured in a gold tiara. Lensed by Benny Horne, she is attired in a mix of monarchical and modern looks from the Fall/Winter 2013 runway collections.

Cara Delevingne is crowned as the epitome of cool on the cover of the Vogue Australia, dressed in a glitzy gold sequined Dolce & Gabbana dress that highlights ecclesial mosaics.

Cara's cover look is combined with a classic beige trench coat by Burberry London.

The pink winter coat trend is romantically conveyed via this satin Louis Vuitton version, trimmed with fur. It is worn over a checked slip maxi dress dipped in gold paillettes.

The 21-year-old model is dressed by Chanel in a sophisticated multi-thread tweed jacket and pleated skirt. Her endearing outfit is caped by a winsome white Vera Wang fur stole.

An eclectic mix of designer pieces are thrown together to create this flamboyant Liberace-like look. Cara wears a blue floral embroidered Tom Ford coat with red fur lining, which is layered over a leather Ann Demuelemeester top and a velvet Giorgio Armani skirt.

Pattern clashing prevails in this intrepid blend of statement pieces, with a red rose embroidered Lanvin dress, a teal leather Prada coat with fur cuffs and jazzy mustard and maroon floral Tom Ford boots (seen one above on the runway worn by Joan Smalls).

Cara channels the glam rock movement in a black leather long sleeved quilted top and fuchsia satin draped skirt with thigh-high suede boots and wide belt, all by Balmain.

An imposing black halter neck Ralph Lauren gown with tented skirt is given a Fall revival, paired with a digital 3D-printed Peter Pilotto coat that features a colossal fur collar (which incidentally, Cara also wore on the runway).

Cara echoes an 18th century princess, ornately dressed in a magnificent white Alexander McQueen design which features an intricately beaded and ruffled Victorian collar and embroidered cut-out bodice with attached voluminous puff sleeves. Her regal look is topped off with a gold geometric crown.

What are your thoughts on this aristocratic editorial?

The September Issues 2013

Cover Girls
September 2013

It's here...the long awaited, precisely planned September issues, which depict the change of trends and seasons, and is highlighted as the most important edition in a magazine's fashion year. Dolce & Gabbana leads in the cover contest, along with the dramatic flair of Gucci and a prevalence of Prada. Red is also a popular colour choice for the month. Here are some of the most striking September covers for 2013 from around the globe.

Brit It Model Cara Delevingne does her best Audrey Hepburn impression on the cover of Vogue Japan. The 20-year-old is elegant in a black pleated Giorgio Armani gown with halter straps and low plunging neckline.

Sarah Jessica Parker shines on the US version of Harper's Bazaar, wearing a gold sequined slip dress by Marc Jacobs

Russian beauty Daria Strokous graces Vogue China's anniversary issue, which is one of 8 covers for the month. She is beautifully outfitted in a red lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

Making her regal presence on Vogue Australia's front cover is Victoria Beckham, dressed in a sultry black tweed Louis Vuitton look with lace trimmed neck and hemline.

Dutch model Ymre Stiekema strikes a pose for her native version of Elle Netherlands, wearing a popular pink and white gingham print dress, layered over a black jersey and styled with a gold metallic belt and red high heels from Prada's Fall 2013 collection.

The stunning Olivia Wilde makes a dynamic appearance on the cover of Canada's Fashion Magazine, in a green and black mesh and feather fringed gown by Gucci.

Doutzen Kroes looks ethereal on the cover of her homeland issue of Vogue Netherlands. The blonde beauty is imperial in an ivory ruffled neck gown with embroidered tweed bodice and textured skirt by Chanel. Layered pearls enhance her exquisite outfit.

Pop Star Katy Perry fronts Elle UK in a chic black and white tartan top with bell waist and cropped shorts by Dolce & Gabbana.

Appealing to a younger readership, Seventeen magazine placed rising star Lily Collins on their September issue in an oversized red DKNY animal print sweater & Lanvin 'Love' necklace.

Making her second September cover appearance, Doutzen Kroes bats her striking blue eyes for Vogue China. The supermodel displays a gleaming metallic gold pinafore by Prada, styled with a cozy grey cashmere sweater and black wide belt.

Magdalena Frackowiak traces her roots to the cover of Elle Poland. She models a edgy yet feminine look with lace sleeves, a floral ruffled bodice & leather peplum by Givenchy.

Blake Lively puts her ambassadorial duties for Gucci to great use on the cover of Elle China. She looks alluring in a gold paillette-decked gown with mesh and fringed detailing.

The unstoppable Lily Collins is also featured on the British version of Glamour Magazine. The 24-year-old beauty is radiant and retro-styled in a scarlet brocade Dolce & Gabbana dress.
