Wow, so many styles! I liked Uma Thurman, Taylor Swift and Kate Perry. Others were a bit too much in every respect, like what was Gsele Bundchen wearing - or better, not wearing? It was too short and too sheer in my opinion. I didn't like the hair style of Solange Knowles, I think a bit more put together could be better for such an occasin, and Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus. SJP looked like "swalowed" by her outfit. But alas, that is only my humble opinion - they are all artists, models, they have the right to wear whatever they want and if they liked their looks, this is what counted - I learned!

Gosh so many selection well done !!

I love the Heavy Metal and Gold and Glamorous

Thanks for sharing these amazing pictures love!

Giselle looks smashing in her gold/black short dress, Jennifer Lawrence looks downright boring to me here, I like Taylor Swift dress and eye makeup but the hairstyle doesnt suit her much. Kirsten Stewart seems to have it all wrong,Amanda Seyfried is looking alluring and gorgeous, love her makeup as well.I love Jamie king's hair piece, not liking nicole richie's hair, and what were the Olsen twins thinking!!?Even Rosie HW has it wrong here, The best Punk would be Anne Hathaway imo! love the white blonde short hair on her paired with black dress!

p.s sorry about the long comment Sam:p

Sam what a great post! Sooo many beautiful looks! The dresses are all so beautiful, I found that Mary-Kate Olsen's look really caught my eye, it's seems to be so different to what everyone else is wearing and I love the vintage glamour appeal of that incredible coat and dress. I also love Alexa Chung and Sarah Jessica Parka's dresses, they both look so chic! :)

Take care,

Morning Sam! Thanks for the round up, have seen some looks this morning but not all! HAve to say that I like many dresses this time, the ladies wear the perfect ones for the occasion! The first name I can say that I really love is Miranda Kerr, she is trully stunning with the cutout gown, truly mesmerizing! Cara and Gisele are my fav for the rock mood section, then I like Taylor Swift, Kate Bosworth and Amanda Seyfried! The ladies who are not are: all the sisters section (LOL!), Anna Hathaway (I'm sorry cause love her style but was pretty shaken when I see the contrast of the hair and gown! Too much aggressive in my opinion!), Beyonce (the dress is gorgeous but is too much on her! Plus also the boots coordinated^^'!) Thank you for dropping in Sam, hope your week will be more relaxed and nice! Hugs and kisses my friend! xo

I love the cut outs and the heavy metal looks. Some of the ladies look pretty ridiculous. To name a few Allison Williams, Kristen Dunst, Jessica Biel. Esp. the green glow looks are pretty awful except for Uma she´s gorgeous. I love the Olsen sisters but this time. What were they thinking haha. I love your post it´s so much fun. They have sooo much money and stylists but sometimes that does not help :)

SJP wins it for me, love her romantic and edgy mix. And, although I am not a huge fan of Jennifer or Simmons, I must admit, she and the dress look beautiful and very elegant compared to the rest of the crowd.
Thank you for sharing the highlights, Sam!

YAY! I love your red carpet posts! I think my favorite is Taylor Swift just because it follow the theme in a really classy way and I so love her hair like that. Not really feeling Miley Cyrus. The dress with the hair is too much, if she wanted to wear that dress she should have toned down the hair!

The "Chemical Romance" selection is definitely my favorite. Cara Delevingne looks wonderful. I find that her dress is simply amazing. Kiss.

Hi Sam!! Hope all is well and your having a nice day! Great coverage of the Met! I was disappointed with some of the A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence (didn't like the length), Jessica Biel (hated the fishnet stocking and lack of makeup), Miranda Kerr (too plain and simple, I love her in flowy gowns that give her a shape) and Gwen P (Not a fan of pink and long sleeves in May).

Emma Watson (WOW), Uma T (One of my Favs), Jessica Alba, J Lopez, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, Michelle William, Blake Lively, Katie Holmes, Emma Rossum, Naomi Harris and surprisingly Anne Hathaway did it for me. These ladies looked beautiful, wore dresses that were well made, well fitted and made a statement. They dressed for the Met Gala. Hope I covered it all! lol

Woah, this is a lot of information to take in!! Fab round up Sam, I don't know where to begin! Love: JLo, Siena Miller, Emma Watson and Katie Holmes. Hate: Katy Perry, Amanda Seyfried and Nicole Richie (what is going on with her hair...?). Awesome creativity from everyone on the outfits though, even if they're a bit too out there for me!

I love the cut out trend. It is a great way to show a little skin without going too far. Royal Blue is currently one of my favorite colors.

Sam, you always have the best titles for the trends! This post was particularly fun, since you used so many names of actual bands: love it :) Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about Met Ball's theme: seriously, punk is probably my least favorite style of all time, so I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. There were only a few looks that I liked, like Jennifer Lawrence's old Hollywood glamour and SJP's bold fashion statement (seriously, only her could pull off the mohawk and look flawless and stylish :) I hated almost all the other looks, especially Kristen Stewart (there was something really wrong with her pants) and Miley Cirus, which comes as no surprise since lately she looks like hot mess in whatever she wears :) But still, even if I hated the fashion, I thing yours was the best Met roundup I've seen this year :)

xx Ivana

Blake Lively and Sienna Miller <3 !!!

Ok my view is when a party come with a theme you stick to it or you just stay in your house and respect the host.
So If I was Miss Wintour I will not allow a bunch of them inside the venue.
My favourite is SJP since she respect and follow the theme.
The worst dressed for me are so many I don't think this comment session is enough for it.
Like really what is the "tacky" dress Beyonce was wearing? and OMG!!! Kim Kardashian wearing my granny's couch cloth?
Oh I am so sad they can't reflect punk so well in couture, how embarrassing?
Enough with my rant though you have done a great job with you post once more.

Test said...

There were quite a good number of scary ladies this year... Haha!

Anonymous said...

I loved the theme of punk so much and certain celebs did manage to find a dress that are appropriate for the red carpet and look stunning.
I absolutely loved Anja Rubik, Miranda Kerr, Cara Delevigne and Nicole richie. Worst dressed would have to be beyonce..I was just not feeling it for what she was wearing.

Teresa said...

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is one of the best galas I've ever seen!!!

I can't get over Carey Mulligan's, Stacey Keibler's and Jessica Alba's gowns!!! They are just so chic and sophisticated, the three of them look so perfect. For the rest of them, I liked 80% of the gowns, but what happened to Ashley Olsen? :( I don't like it at all!

..still dreaming of wearing a Balenciaga dress someday.. haha
