Movie Lines I Love

There is nothing quite like the rose-tinged spirit of Valentine's Day to bring out the romantic in all of us, even a cynic like me. With love painted all over airwaves and TV screens, it reminded me of the many cloyingly sweet and sentimental movies I have seen in recent years...and the heartstoppingly soppy quotes from them. These are a few good lines from a few good movies that have stuck with me. Please click on the cards for a larger view.












If you haven't already seen any of these movies, I would highly recommend them to you for some good old fashioned schmaltz and Jane Austen type of toe-curling, heart palpitating, butterfly inducing romance. What memorable movie quote features as your favourite?

One of the best post inspired by Valentines I saw through the blogs:) I watched all the movies you shared and I agree with your selection.   48. I can't believe I've never seen so many of these movies! Seriously, I'm lacking a lot in love story department :) Of course, The Holiday is one of my all time favorites, I watch it every Christmas. But I still have yet to see The Notebook (I can almost hear the gasps :) and so so many more! Thank you for the movie night inspiration, Sam!

  51. I'm the first to raise my hand an admit I'm not really a "chick flicks" kind of girl, most of the romances portrayed in those always seem so flat. That said, Ten things I hate about you is one of my all time favorite, along with Grease! (How could anyone not like Grease? Oliva newton john was killer in it and the supporting cast was fantastic and such a fun romance to watch. Tons of fun songs as well.) I'm usually drawn to the more unusual romances, Eastern Promises I think was the last truly fantastic one I saw on screen. (Actually Viggo M's movie before that, History of Violence, had a great romance between the married couple as well.)

    Still haven't seen 500 days of summer, from what I've heard it really is great. Maybe tomorrow night! :)

  62. I have seen many of these movies but not all of them. The Notebook is one of my favorites and the wedding date. My favorite line in the wedding date is when cafherine's dad asks her where she met nick. Her response, "the yellow pages." lol

    One of my favorite quote is from "It happened one night", I'm a sucker for those black and white classics:
