My Life As A Movie

I recently watched an outstanding advert on our local TV screens & had to share it with you. Beautifully scripted, magically inspired & true to life, the M-Net ad campaign is entitled 'My Life As A Movie', and portrays one's life as if it were lived as a silver screen Hollywood production.

The thought-provoking trailer reminds us of the fine line between life and film. They both their fair share of drama, adventure, love and romance, joy, sorrow, the thrilling moments and the scary ones. Every person who plays a role in our lives are like cinematic characters; each with their own conventions, charms and quirks. I hope you will find this video as memorable and heart-warming as I do...I've included the script below.

In my life...
I've beaten the odds,
I've been the star of the show
And the loser no one wants to know.

I've known heroes and villains;
Heroes who turned out to be villains.
I've known true love...
and lost it too.

I've lived in fantasy worlds
Been written out of stories,
Written off.

I've lost my way...Lost myself...Lost the plot
And had entire conversations without saying a word.
I've had second chances,
Third ones too
And I've come back again.

I've found myself in complete darkness
And I've seen the light
I fought with the director....He humored me.

I used to think that magic only happened in the movies
But then it happened to me.

This inspired me to ask the question:
If there were a movie made of your life, who would you pick to best portray 'You'?
I look forward to hearing your casting choices.

*Video fully credited to M-Net, Ogilvy and Picturetree Productions.

Love the poem. I think I would choose Ginnifer Goodwin.

Great question! It would have to be myself playing the part. :) and I'm not even sure that I'd get it right...

That's such a lovely ad! I've never thought about life as a movie before, I suppose it is very similar! Life can be even better than films. I'd choose Keira Knightley, because in my dreams I AM HER haha! Who would you choose Sam? xxx

Amazing video Sam! Loved it..
Who would I choose!? Probably Jessica Alba or Angelina Jolie. I absolutely adore them! Xo

I would have no idea who would be me... I have yet to find a celeb that really looks similar to me lol If I could pick someone because I simply love them I'd pick Kate Hudson because I just think she is amazing and I have a slight style/ beauty crush on her lol

I've been sitting here trying to think of who would play me in a life story and I'm just coming up empty handed! (Most likely because I'd love a later-life story done with Vanessa Redgrave, preferably done in Shakespearean. I would nerd out over that!) I love, love this script that goes with this video, it's lovely and that second to last verse just really speaks to me. (And has a delightful little twist of humor.)

Aha, Kristin Wigg! She'd have to put on some pounds and get shorter, but she does a pretty good awkward nerdiness (not in an adorkable way) with a little bit of neurotic which would be perfect!

Oh I love that video! I have no idea who I'd want to portray me. Emily Blunt is my favourite actress, so I will go with her :D!

That was gorgeous... and i guess i kind of approach my life like a movie sometimes. I have a theme song or background song playing in my head, or I sometimes feel like i'm acting out some scene in the movie that is my life. So I've been told time and time again that I look like Sandra Oh ... so i may have to pick her to play me haha

Hi Sam! I really enjoyed the advert, is a shame it isnt international since is too deep! I love what he says, so true for each person! Mmm regarding your question, I think it could be Julia Roberts, since she is good either in funny and sad roles, so is perfect!!:P have a great day dear! Big kisses!!!:***

The video is so amazing and the script is so touching!
It's difficult to choose who would portray me, but the first persons who popped into my mind would be Mila Kunis or Leighton Meester. The Blair in me striving for perfection and for fashion supremacy or the funny and cute Mila would be a perfect mix!

Oh and by the way - the shooting for the editorial in Vogue Germany was really outside - quite amazing, isn't it? :)

Wow, what a thought-provoking post!! Love the trailer, very well done. Who to play me?! Well it has to be a redhead I guess so I don't have many options... I would vote Emma Stone, although I am definitely not as funny as her!
