When your list of previous employers include the likes of Sergio Rossi, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and Salvatore Ferragamo, it has to be an indication of great things to come. When Gaetano Perrone decided to begin this own shoe label, fashion enthusiasts were only too thrilled to see what his own creative ideas would dictate. And we were not disappointed.
Bologna-based Perrone bursts onto the summer shoe scene with bright fresh colours, interesting use of textures, material mixing and sexy curvature. For Spring/Summer 2013, this innovative footwear artist indulges in tropical toned high heels, moulded from exotic fabrics, peppered with vibrant animal prints and varnished in glossy metallics.
Colour-blocking makes a comeback in geometric mink pink and red suede pairs for the colour shy classics. A few pairs of flats are also thrown in for good measure. Intricately crafted 3-dimensional leather orchids form the keynote for the collection, seamed onto the fronts and backs of soaring stilettos and wedge heels.
A treat for the eyes, and enticing to all shoe lovers alike, this is a glance at Gaetano Perrone's Spring/Summer 2013 range.
